Atlas Van Lines Agents Help Families Victimized by Rogue Mover

Oakville, ON. November 13, 2017

Toronto Police Services and the RCMP laid 37 charges against a Toronto mover and confiscated two shipments that were held in the mover’s warehouse.

One family had not seen their shipment for over 7 months, the second for over 3 months. Atlas agents Premiere Van Lines in Fredericton and AMJ Campbell Toronto West along with Atlas Van Lines personnel arranged for the delivery of the two shipments from Police Services in Toronto to their grateful owners in Belle River, ON and Quebec City, QC.

It is alleged that the operators of Green Moving, Capital Moving, Homeland Moving, Landmark Van Lines, and Ryder Moving, defrauded victims by low balling the quotes then once the shipments had been loaded, advised of new charges 2-3 times higher than the quoted amounts. This is the second set of charges against this mover under a Police Services Financial Crimes project called  “Project Haul”.

“Atlas is very proud of both Premiere Van Lines and AMJ Campbell for helping the two families get their belongings back after months of their shipments being held hostage by a rogue mover” said Barry Schellenberg, President of Atlas Canada. “We are grateful to Toronto Police Services and the RCMP for their work and efforts in clamping down on rogue movers who give the moving industry a bad name”.
